Decadence 

Decadence. Decadence is an installation piece consisting of 11 resin pieces, 2 plaster, 17 found objects, 1 table. Slang terms like JELLO contribute to the blurring of the distinction between jealousy and envy. This piece plays off the idea of an opulent dessert table and the envy of Black Culture. In this piece the jello is filled with hair adornments like barrettes, beads, faux hair. 

These pieces show the care that we the Black community take in our hair. Hair is a labor of love and beautiful show peice. This piece also represents the whimsy and creativity that is part of Black hair culture.
